The First Choice for Acupuncture Therapy in Widnes!
Energy lines, known as meridians, are pathways which transfer energy known as Qi throughout the body. Therefore when this energy is unbalanced or blocked is when illness may occur. With the incision of traditional acupuncture needles we encourage this imbalance to be unblocked, helping our body to heal and re-balance naturally.
Acupuncture needles can be inserted at any point of these energy pathways of the body. However, commonly used points are situated at the lower limbs of the arms and legs.
An acupuncturist will treat each patient as an individual and not as a symptom. They use not only acupuncture needling, but also traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine, Cupping, Moxibustion and Acupressure.

The BIG Question! Does Acupuncture Hurt?
The answer is NO. Acupuncture needles are solid needles, not hollow like hypodermic needles; they are as thin as the diameter of a thick human hair. Some people can feel the needles being inserted and some cannot. You can experience a tingling and dull numbness around the area when the needle has been inserted during treatment. This helps to encourage a deep relaxation during treatment.
Needles are left in for approximately 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the individual. Treatment is tailored around the patient, therefore if you have any concerns you are welcome to express them to the practitioner beforehand.
Acupuncture Treatment costs can be claimed back through most health care cover providers such as MediCash, Simply Health and Health Shield. Contact your health care provider for confirmation.
